First of all i like the fact she goes out in to the world to do real research and not just look at some stats or some articles buy someone else. She goes out and lives the lifes of these people she is assigned to right about, thus forming her own unique position. She gains a knowledge of these types of people that only experiance can teach. And she does try to make it as real as possible even though she has a small expense account in case of an emergency. I think that this story is deffinatly more genuine than the steakhouse in that no one knew who she was and she was able to move about them without fear of ebing cought.

I mean how desperate do you need to be to get your hands on a peice of $600 electronic equipment that will be availabe again in time for christmas? And right now on eBay there are currently 8200+ PS3s up for auction with none of them below the $1200 marker. Again i say what is wrong with these people that buy these things. Cant they wait the 40 or so days for christmas to get one, there is another 600,000 coming a that time, to save a couple thousand dollars. I must confess though i was part of a team of people that were out to make the big money on the PS3 and thus far have made a rather large profit. but i fell sorry for the idiots that bought them. It just shows you how greedy american culture has gotten, that we are willing to spend a huge premium to have the best now, and how we are not willing to wait for anything. But hey thats just how i fell. I got my Xbox360 My Wii is coming sunday and i have the money to get my PS3 when i can get one again, plus a Huge 42″ plasma TV <(^o^)> <(^o^<) (>^o^)> <(^o^)>

And also you know how some boxes of cereal and shampoo say that there is like 30% free or something to that nature. I wonder if i were to walk into a store open a box of cereal or a bottle of shampoo and put that extra 30% free into gladware to take home if that would be stealing? I mean it is free, isnt it?

Now this story is a prelude to what i really want to show you. But to explain these guys want the extra men to buy more PS3s for them so that they can sell the PS3s on ebay for an extremely inflated price. which actually isn’t a bad idea. Buy the system for $600 or so and put it online for $1500+. There is no doubt in my mind that they will get the money, but my problem is that there taking total advantage of the system for there own profit. but hey its America with the capitalist economy you can do that type of thing.

WHAT THE HELL. These guys are waiting nine days, yes nine days outside of BestBuy to get a PS3.Do they have jobs, families, life’s? Even if they were to sell there PS3 on eBay for $1500 they would make a $900 profit. You can make that at a $10 an hour job in nine days v. waiting out side for that same nine days would make more profit.

But heres my real problem.

SONY is a big fat asshole of a corperate megastar. they are only sending 400,000 systems to America causing a huge supply/demand issue. And the were poking fun at Microsoft for not being able to release the stated two million in America ( they released 1.2 million 3x that of PS3)

            I think the
idea behind the entire “social experiment” and its execution was damn near
perfect. Julies idea of placing herself as the bar tender of a restaurant bar
in the middle of Detroit to observe and interact with what she considered and
her subjects considered the working middle class. And her acceptance to become
their object of “hate” if you will, arguing against their beliefs in defense of
her own. Even if at one point when talking about stepping on the American flag
she was at a loss of words in her defense. That takes some iron balls if you
know what I mean. Especially when you consider that some people will die to
defend what they belief and these people were all a little intoxicated. In
general I think she really thought out the near perfect way to display the
working class culture of Detroit with out influencing opinions too much.  

            But….

I really don’t think that this image of the working
class culture can be applied to every working class individual, even in all of
Detroit. What I’m trying to say is that she did not I think if she were trying
to make a generalization about the working class of Detroit she would have not
had enough experience with enough people. What she needs is a larger
demographic of people and not just the “regulars” in the steakhouse.

I really found this entire article very intriguing. I have
always been on the edge of technological knowledge but never did I know that
the blind could use the Internet. And what makes this experience even more
exciting for me is that I found it out through it being a civil rights case.

I fully believe that no one should be discriminated against
because of mental or physical handicap. And the lack of knowledge, especially
from a multi-billion dollar corporation, is no excuse for denying individuals
their rights. And something else I thought while reading this, target has lost
revenue from blind Internet users who could were not able to access there
website. This may have not been very much but still that is money in the bank.
And this really doesn’t make sense to me and I quote:

Last month a federal judge in
California allowed the NFB’s case to proceed, rejecting Target’s argument that
its Web site wasn’t subject to the Americans With Disabilities Act, a 1990 law
that requires retailers and other public places to make accommodations for
people with disabilities. Target argued that the law only covered physical
spaces. 

Being the tech savvy guy that I am Targets website
falls under the name of an E-tailer or electronic retailer. And this site being
the “physical property” of Target would in theory a retailer store of sorts,
falling under Americans With Disabilities Act, a 1990. I don’t know if it does
it its something that I would like to hear an opinion about.

Wow, I can’t believe this one. Ill give you the run down. Basically this man and five others are saying because of their obesity and diabetes, they there is a heighten risk that they will fell pain during there execution by lethal injection. And for some education on lethal injection:

After the condemned is fastened on the execution table, two intravenous catheters
are inserted, one in each arm. Only one is used for the execution, the
other is reserved as a backup in case the primary IV fails.

The arm of the condemned is swabbed with alcohol before the needle is inserted. Along with its antiseptic use, the alcohol also causes the blood vessels to rise to the skin’s surface, making it easier to insert the needle. [1]
The needles and equipment used are also sterilized. One reason for this
is because the needles are standard medical products that are
sterilized during manufacturing. Also, there is a chance that the
prisoner could receive a stay of execution after the needles have been inserted as happened in the case of James Autry in October 1983 (he was executed eventually on 14 March 1984). Finally, it would also be a hazard for those handling unsterile equipment.

The intravenous injection is usually a mixture of compounds, designed to induce rapid unconsciousness followed by death through paralysis of respiratory muscles and/or by inducing cardiac hyperpolarization. The execution of the condemned in most states involves three separate injections:

1. Sodium thiopental: to induce a state of unconsciousness intended to last while the other two injections take effect.
2. Pancuronium/Tubocurarine: to stop all muscle movement except the heart. This causes muscle paralysis, collapse of the diaphragm, and would eventually cause death by asphyxiation.
3. Potassium chloride: to stop the heart from beating, and thus cause death: see cardiac arrest.

The drugs are not mixed externally as that can cause them to precipitate.

The intravenous tubing leads to a room next to the execution
chamber usually separated from the inmate by a curtain or wall.
Usually some type of IV technician with certification to insert the IV
performs that role, while the chemical technician, who is usually a
member of the prison staff, orders, prepares, and loads the chemicals
into the machine. After the curtain is opened to allow the witnesses to
see inside the chamber, the condemned person will then be permitted to
make a final statement. Following this, the warden will signal for the
execution to commence, and the executioner(s), either prison staff or
private citizens depending on the jurisdiction, will then activate the
machine that mechanically delivers the three drugs in sequence. During
the execution, the inmate’s cardiac rhythm is monitored and death is
pronounced after cardiac activity stops. Death usually occurs within
seven minutes, although the whole procedure can take up to 45 minutes.
According to state law, if participation in the execution is prohibited
for physicians, the death ruling is made by the state’s Medical
Examiner’s Office. After confirmation that death has occurred, a
coroner signs the executed individual’s death certificate.

Ok now for what I believe.

Take him out the old fashioned way, with a bullet, I mean come on you killed some people and most likely it was painful for them. Yet you want to have your death be painless and merciful. That doesn’t work for me. I am pro death penalty and I stand by the fact that if you kill an innocent human or vigilantly style some one I reserve my right to kill you. Now imp no hick but that’s what I believe. The taking of ones life is no light matter, even accidental, their needs to be some type of punishment for it and thank god there

Ok ive read the excerpt and i know the history of Douglas and for those of you who dont; lets go on                             a magic trip down the line of abolishonist history.

    Douglas at the age of 8 was sent off to New Bedfurd Mass. to learn the craft of ship building by his master in Maryland. There Douglas recieved his first real taste of “freedom” thee city of New Bedfurd slavery was illegalized, but existing slaves were still considered slaves.This is alaso where he learned to read and write buy tricking the white boys he apprenticed with into teaching him. Then he “ran away” from from Slavery for seven years and lived in New Bedfurd. Eventually being caught again. HIs master then sent him to what is known as a slavebreaker by the name of Coby (Coby was known as the wost slavebreaker(: is one who is payed to break the spirirt of a slave)around) this is where Douglas really began his abolishonist cause. After leaving Coby Douglas really ran away for good from slavery back to New Bedfurd and then further to boston and then even further to  New York CIty because he believd that everywhere else was to close to Mryland and this is also where he meet William Loyd Garison. Garison was at the time the leading force in the Abolishonist Movemnet and found Douglas to be as equally motivated as he. Garison approched Douglas about a position of being a paid lecturer in his American Anti-slave Aliance. Douglas was able to do something to the crowds he spoke to, he was able to make them belive in the anti-slavery cause by using his eleoquint  speaking skills and experiance as an ex-slave. During this time many southerns began calling Douglas’s stories lies and sayed that they were exagerated . They also accused him of being  a fraud and that others where ghoast writing under his name and feeding him his lectures. Douglas’s response was this Autobiography that he wrote himslef.

          And this is where i get off to tell you my thoughts about this autobiography

    I must say that the particular part that we were given to read waz particulary given to read waz  extremly hard to read with out felling hatred toward slave ownerz.                                   I found the entire thing very powerful in its use of personal experiance and its way of mezmerizing you with its eloquint style. And what i found amusing waz that this during the time it was writen that Blackz particularly slavez were not aloud to read and right and here is and ex-slave that can write like Poe or Fitzgerald. And i really found myself sickened at the ways slave ownerz would trick there slavez into hating freedom and dehumanizing them buy seperating mother and child. Making what would seem like a pleasureable experiance painful. And i do find something comical; the expersion on a southern mans face when he found that it was writen by a black man. I mean at this time American literature was just starting to become good and here comes one of the best writen in terms of style and it was writen by a black ex-slave.
